Lights On Studio · Brisbane, Australia

Lights On takes the risk out of inclusion.

We train disabled talent to industry standard, create brand and screen content, and employ them in it. Three of five pilot participants were booked, three cohorts have completed the program, and Screenrights has backed us.

Partner with us so brands, productions and governments can reach a US$13 trillion global market, authentically, through the decade of major events ahead.

Why most brands get this wrong

Inclusion that looks like inclusion is the problem.

Brands, productions and governments want to work with disabled talent. What stops them isn't intent. It's the fear of getting it wrong: the wrong language, an unprepared set, a campaign that reads as tokenism. So they play it safe, and the opportunity passes.

“It's a twenty percent market share that's just being ignored.”Lisa Cox OAM · Advertising and branding specialist, advisor to Lights On

What goes wrong

Talent hired without context.

A crew that has never worked with disabled creatives. Access not planned. Representation that puts optics ahead of story. The community can tell.

The result

Audiences know immediately.

Performative inclusion doesn't just fail to land. It damages trust with the very audience you were trying to reach.

What most agencies offer

A headshot and a reel.

Most agencies treat inclusion as a casting decision made after the concept is set. That's casting. It isn't storytelling.

What we offer instead

Built in. Not bolted on.

Inclusion from concept to delivery. We train the talent, we know their range and their story, and disability-led creative input shapes the work from the first page.

The Lights On model

One studio. A talent engine and a revenue engine.

Training is our talent engine. Studio services are how brands, productions and governments work with us. The two feed each other.

Train

An eight week, 24 hour on-camera program, disability-led and access first, delivered by industry practitioners including Liza Brock, a working casting director from Brock Casting Services, and the Head of Acting at APAC. Every graduate leaves with headshots, an intro reel and a casting profile.

Create

Graduates create alongside our studio team, building screen credits and a body of work shaped by disability-led creative input. Graduates who want representation are introduced to agents through our industry partners and showcases. Graduates choose. Lights On is not their agent.

Employ

We cast graduates in the paid brand and screen content we produce, and they stay available to external productions through their agents and casting directors.

Three ways to work with the studio

Place. Produce. Partner.

Every brief is matched at depth, by story rather than headshot. Choose the model that fits your campaign.

Place

We place. You produce.

Your production, our talent.

  • Brief-matched talent from our trained pipeline
  • Access planning handled before the shoot
  • Crew briefing and on-set support
  • Camera-ready talent, including UGC
Produce

We write it. Crew it. Deliver it.

Full-service campaign production from inside the community.

  • Concept development led by lived experience
  • At least one in five crew roles held by disabled crew
  • Live action, digital, immersive and UGC formats
  • Senior production team with international credits
Partner

Always on.

Year-round inclusion, built into how you work.

  • Priority access to the talent pipeline
  • A regular content production cadence
  • Community strategy and consultation
  • First look at each new graduating cohort

Studio services are scoped per brief. Send us what you know and we'll come back within 48 hours with the model and budget that fits.

How we de-risk inclusion for your brand

The four things that usually go wrong, handled.

01

Ready talent

Trained, camera-ready performers with professional materials.

02

Access handled

Access needs planned before the shoot, with support workers on set.

03

Story done right

Disability-led creative input from concept stage, not bolted on at casting.

04

Measurable impact

Training, paid work and community outcomes reported back to you.

Proof of concept

A pilot of five. Three paid bookings.

No marketing spend. Two of the three bookings came from government clients, which tells you government is already buying talent from this pipeline.

Government · Print

Queensland Government

Paid print commercial, cast from the pilot cohort.

Government · Campaign

City of Gold Coast

Paid campaign for the city's accessible parking and wheelchair lock box initiative.

Commercial · Documentary

Human Nature

Paid booking on the Human Nature documentary commercial. That pilot graduate is now our Co-Program Director.

Backed by the Screenrights Cultural Fund. Supporting us to take the program online and fund a cohort of eight, turning a Brisbane program into national training infrastructure.

The opportunity

The largest underserved market on the planet.

Audiences reward brands that reflect the world they live in. Inclusive casting is a measurable signal of brand trust, not a values statement, and the brands that move now own the category narrative.

US$13T

Annual disposable income controlled by people with disability together with their friends and families, worldwide.

Return on Disability Group, 2020

Spent by travellers with accessible needs in Australia in 2024. That's 17% of all tourism spend, and Queensland hosted 24% of their nights.

Tourism Research Australia, 2024
$925M

Record Queensland screen production expenditure in 2024–25, 34% of the national market. A booming local industry that needs trained, diverse talent.

Screen Australia, Drama Report 2024/25
$43B

Added to Australia's GDP over ten years by closing one third of the employment gap for people with disability.

Deloitte Access Economics, 2011

The decade ahead. Queensland is heading into a decade of major international events, tourism campaigns and civic content, much of it cast and produced here. Our aim is to be the trusted inclusion partner for the brands, agencies and governments creating that content, with trained, camera ready talent from our own pipeline.

Where Lights On began

Nothing About Us Without Us.

Lights On was conceived in July 2025 at the Creative Brisbane Collab's cultural legacy workshop for Brisbane 2032, where creatives with disability were one of six legacy themes. The report that followed named its first principle Nothing About Us Without Us.

Lights On is that principle in practice: disability-led from design to delivery. Seven months later the pilot cohort was running. Liza Brock now sits on the Collab's Cultural Legacy Panel for Principle 1.

Program partnerships

Fund the pipeline, not a moment of visibility.

Program partnerships back the training that powers everything above, and put your brand alongside the talent from the start. Separate from studio services, and available on an annual basis.
